Privacy Policy — The Connect

The Connect (“we,” “us,” “our”) is operated by Copyads FZE. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from candidates and employers who use theconnectjobs.com (the “Platform”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By registering for or using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

From Candidates

  • Full name, age, email address, WhatsApp number
  • Qualification, work experience, current position, preferred job category, preferred country, expected salary
  • Your CV/resume and profile photo
  • Your account password (stored encrypted; we cannot see it in plain text)

From Employers

  • Company name, industry, company location
  • Contact person name, WhatsApp number, email address
  • Company logo
  • Your account password (stored encrypted)

Collected Automatically

  • IP address, browser type, device information
  • Pages visited and how you interact with the Platform
  • Cookies (see Section 7)

Payment Information

When you activate a membership plan, payments are processed by Razorpay, our third-party payment gateway. We do not collect or store your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials — Razorpay handles that directly, in line with PCI-DSS security standards. We do receive confirmation of payment (amount, plan selected, transaction status, transaction ID) to activate your membership.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

  • Create and manage your candidate or employer account
  • Match candidates with relevant job opportunities and employers with relevant candidates
  • Display candidate profiles (name, qualifications, experience, category, location) to employers browsing the Platform
  • Reveal full candidate details — CV and WhatsApp contact — only to employers with an active paid membership
  • Process membership payments and send related confirmations
  • Send account-related emails (welcome emails, password resets, service updates)
  • Improve and maintain the Platform
  • Respond to support requests sent via Contact Us or WhatsApp
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How We Share Your Information

  • Employers with active membership can view a candidate’s full CV and contact them directly via WhatsApp. Employers without active membership see limited candidate details (name, category, general location) only.
  • Payment processor (Razorpay): to process membership payments. Razorpay’s own privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.
  • Service providers: hosting, email delivery, and other technical providers who help us operate the Platform, bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of The Connect, our users, or the public.

We do not sell candidate or employer personal data to third parties.

4. International Data Transfers & International Transactions

The Connect serves candidates and employers across India, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf and international markets. Because of this, your personal information — and, where applicable, your payment information — may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than the one you are located in, including India (where Platform data may be hosted) and other jurisdictions in which our service providers, including Razorpay and its banking partners, operate.

This specifically includes:

  • Candidates or employers located outside India whose registration and profile data is processed on servers located in India.
  • International card payments: when a membership plan is paid for using a card issued outside India (for example, a UAE, Saudi, or other Gulf-issued card), that transaction is processed by Razorpay’s international payment infrastructure, which may involve currency conversion and processing through banking partners located in other countries.
  • Cross-border matching: a candidate’s profile and CV may be viewed by an employer located in a different country than the candidate, and vice versa, as part of the core service the Platform provides.

By using the Platform and, where applicable, by making a payment, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing of your information outside your country of residence. We require our payment processor and hosting providers to maintain appropriate contractual and technical safeguards (such as encryption in transit and at rest) to protect your information regardless of where it is processed.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the Platform may not function correctly without them.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and profile information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion (Section 8), we delete your WordPress user account and associated candidate/employer profile. Some information may be retained longer where required for legal, tax, or accounting purposes (for example, payment records).

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted password storage and secure payment processing through Razorpay — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

You may:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information via your dashboard’s “Edit Profile” section
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is intended for job-seeking adults and hiring businesses. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under the age of 18.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
